It has been fascinating to see the rise of the Marvel Universe, from its humble beginnings in 2008 to the monumental cultural behemoth that it is today. A brief history of what has happened in the MCU so far?

Beginning with Iron Man in 2008, the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes (aka the Avengers) were gradually introduced as they took on a myriad of threats on the planet. A mysterious government organization called SHIELD managed these superpowered heroes from the shadows to combat threats beyond what mankind was able to fight. As they vanquished madmen, aliens and robots; the strength of the Avengers invited ever-greater challenges. Cornered and ostracized at home for wanton destruction, our heroes would find some unexpected allies from across the cosmos as the battle shifted across the universe. With 37 films and an even greater number of TV shows released to date, this sprawling pantheon of heroes is poised to face their biggest challenge yet in the shape of Dr. Doom, in Avengers: Doomsday (2026).
