Officially, Ant Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is the first property of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s “Phase 5” which will go on to include What If Season 2, Loki Season 2, the Blade Reboot, Agatha and Ironheart getting their own series, new movies for The Marvels, Captain America, Daredevil, Guardians of the Galaxy…and a number of other projects.

It’s no spoiler to note that this movie introduces the supervillain Kang the Conqueror, who numerous sources have suggested might be filling the “big background badguy” role that Thanos played in Phase 3. Of course, discussing spoilers in films based on comics is a tricky thing, because to some readers, they already know who Kang is and what this means…and yet might have their expectations subverted, which is the style of the time.

Initial critical responses have been great, citing the film as weird, zany, and similar to Star Wars.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’s official premier will be/was February 6, 2023 in Hollywood, with the general release on Feb 17.
